The Pocomoke River State Forest abuts the northern edge of the WMA. The Pocomoke River WMA's 1,016-acre (4.11 km 2) tract is a mixture of agricultural fields, woodlands, and wetlands located within the cypress swamp in south central Worcester County, north of Pocomoke City.
